Clef Hangar & Friends – EP launch and dance party
Event description
Clef Hangar launches it's debut EP, System Exploit.
Dance-beat underlined cinematic soundscapes collide with caustic spoken word, via hip hop side-trips. EP launch with special guests. Followed by dance party.
Local jack-of-all-trades Clay Ravin has spent the last six months coralling wild minor key notes into a a rough grid formed by wooden staves and solid metal bar lines. During the same period of time, he also made some music, which will be presented on the night.
Imagine a 60's European film soundtrack wrestling with a late 80s electronic dance piece in a bedouin tent. This is not what Clay's music is like, but please imagine this.
Some of the pieces feature spoken word, and a hip may be made to hop as well.
The lyrics shine a somewhat feeble light into the murky darkness of global politics and internet chatrooms.
Clay will be joined on the Radius stage by Adam Menegazzo on violin and Cameron Saunders on bass. Plus special guests.
Followed by some dance floor action with DJs Heath Myers, Ezc, Koshka and a late night "deep tribal" dance set by Clay Ravin.
