Climate Action Cafe project kick off
Event description
In February 2025, 120 people brainstormed more than 50 community-led projects to take climate action, provide education and reduce our impact on the environment.
These were shortlisted to 23 projects where people actively volunteered to put their energy and time into bringing to life.
Let’s get started
Tweed Shire Council’s climate change and sustainability team will deliver quarterly capacity building workshops to help project teams turn their ideas into reality.
These workshops will also help you make connections with other project groups and to celebrate successes, challenges, ideas and feedback with other groups.
14 May 2025 - Session 1: Project planning, goal setting and recruitment
We’ll help you define your projects into achievable outcomes, develop a shared understanding of what success looks
like and make connections between project team members to build momentum for your project.
Light refreshments will be provided.
Future sessions:
Session 2: Co-design and engagement (August 2025)
Session 3: Resourcing the vision (November 2025)
Session 4: Refreshing and delivering the vision (February 2026)
Session 5: Sustaining momentum + scaling up (May 2026)
Session 6: Measuring impact (August 2026)
Who should attend?
If you’re a Climate Action Café project team member, part of Tweed Climate Action Now (Tweed CAN), part of other Tweed community groups or looking to get involved, these workshops will help equip you with skills to navigate getting a project up and running.
It’s also important to check in with like-minded individuals and project teams to share successes and challenges with
other projects to encourage each other.
