Climate change presents both a financial risk and a generational economic opportunity.

Australia has the resources, workforce, and expertise to lead the global transition to clean energy — creating thousands of jobs, driving innovation, and strengthening the economy. But turning this potential into reality requires capital, and investors need clear policy direction and certainty on risk and return to allocate it effectively.

A strong and ambitious 2035 emissions reduction target will be pivotal in shaping investment decisions. With the Federal Government set to determine its next target in the coming months — and as major economies like the U.S. pull back on climate commitments — Australia has a unique opportunity to position itself as a premier global destination for clean energy investment, which is set to increase 300 percent by 2030.

As part of Climate Action Week Sydney, the Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC) is opening its monthly member briefing to the public.

Join us to:

✅ Gain insights into IGCC’s investor-led Climate Action Pays Off campaign

✅ Hear success stories from those on the frontlines of Australia’s clean energy transformation (Michelle from SA Power Networks, Adelaide, Trent from MCi Carbon, Newcastle)

✅ Understand why investors see a strong climate target as critical for economic growth and job creation

This is a must-attend event for investors, policymakers, and business leaders looking to navigate the intersection of climate ambition and economic opportunity - as well as anyone interested in economic benefits of climate action and how it is supporting everyday Australians.
