Climate and the City Council Workshop
Event description
Join fellow climate and gender activists to workshop how we will make climate action a priority for the upcoming local elections.
As showcased in the three previous Women at the Table on Climate Change events, gender inequality coupled with the climate crisis is one of the greatest challenges of our time. So what does this mean for local government?
As we approach local body elections (October 2025), we want to know what candidates for Wellington City Council are saying and doing around climate change. We want to be informed when we cast our votes, which means asking the right questions. Come along to this workshop to draft a set of questions we want to ask candidates about climate change, and plan the approach for presenting these.
Light refreshments will be provided. Thank you to the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in New Zealand for their generous sponsorship of climate work with the Wellington Branch of the National Council of Women New Zealand.
