Climate catch up: celebrating community, sparking action, making connections
Event description
Are you a resident or local community group passionate about taking action to protect our environment and respond to climate change? Then this event is for you! It's time to fill your cup, share ideas and progress and make connections with like-minded people in the Tweed.
What to expect:
Facilitated session - Founder of Water Sports Guru, Green X7, and Team Building Guru, Tim Jack Adams, will facilitate a session looking back at our goals, progress, achievements, and struggles, while building connection, enthusiasm and momentum for what lies ahead for our projects in 2026.
Introduction to TweedCAN - We'd also like to introduce you to Tweed Climate Action Now (Tweed CAN) - a community-led group designed to make it as simple as possible for locals to take action to address climate change. TweedCAN seeks to provide a centralised hub for Tweed climate info, to develop and support fledgling projects, help individuals take action and to be a voice for community climate concerns. Importantly, this group aims to connect people with other groups already doing great work in our community.
Join us between 5-7 pm, or come early at 4 pm for a tour of the food gardens at Cabarita Beach Bowls and Sports Club and an insight into its community partnerships and support.
Food will be provided (vegan). Attendees may purchase own drinks if desired.
Who should attend:
Community groups
Tweed Shire residents
More about Tim Jack Adams
Since 2009, Tim has founded three companies with one mission; helping people reconnect with themselves, their teams, and what truly matters.
Through these ventures, he has worked with leadership teams across industries to embed functional wellbeing, strengthen culture, and build momentum that lasts. His approach is always personal, he takes the time to understand each team’s unique needs and co-creates a path that delivers real results, not just feel-good moments.
Tim believes that when people feel valued, purposeful and connected, they preform at their best. And when organisations work this way, they don’t just build better companies — they help create a better world.
