Climate Change Scenario Planning Workshop
Event description
Tonkin + Taylor's Climate Advisory team are hosting our first in a series of in-person workshops to help you gain hands-on skills in scenario planning and managing your climate risks. This first workshop focuses on scenario planning.
Scenario planning is a process that can help organisations navigate complex and uncertain futures. It involves developing distinct and challenging future scenarios which can then help with strategic planning. Within the climate change context, scenarios are often used to identify climate-related risks and opportunities, and to assist with transition planning.Â
Course Key Learning OutcomesÂ
- Understanding key terminology and conceptsÂ
- Understanding global and national reference scenariosÂ
- Becoming familiar with scenario planning methodsÂ
- Taking away some practical, hands-on skillsÂ
Is this relevant to me and/or my organisation?Â
Both the Task Force for Climate Related Disclosures (TCFD) and the External Reporting Board (XRB) have provided guidance on how to undertake scenario planning. However, these documents can sometimes be overwhelming and hard to interpret. This is why this workshop may be for you.Â
Irrespective of whether you represent a Climate Reporting Entity, this workshop will help expand your knowledge and skills relating to climate scenario planning.
T+T's Climate Advisory team have extensive experience in climate scenario planning and risk assessments. We have worked on both sector-level and organisational-level scenarios for both the private and public sectors and we pride ourselves in integrating strong climate science and policy knowledge with evidenced-based approaches. Â
