Climate Change Through the Lens of Intersectionality

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Climate change touches everyone's lives - but not proportionately. Our warming planet is a systemic problem which must be addressed in conjunction with other systems of power and oppression.

Join us for Auckland Climate Festival from 6.00pm (kick-off at 6:15pm) on Thursday 21st September at The Flagship Education Centre for a kōrero exploring the different lenses through which we must view climate change to ensure a just transition to a low carbon economy is community centred and led. Hosted by the Social Change Collective, this event will give attendees the opportunity to listen to the perspectives of rangatahi and political changemakers focused on climate action. We'll then break into a speed-dating-style roundtable where you'll be able to hear more from our incredible panelists on whatever issues you're most curious and passionate about.

Our attendees will be hearing from our incredible speakers, Pok Wei Heng, Lyla Tapusoa, and Darleen Tara, facilitated by Cherrie Gao, as they explore the nexus between climate and identity.

Please register for free to give us an idea of numbers, and cancel your ticket if you are no longer able to join us.
