Be part of one of the biggest conversations on addressing climate change that Australia has ever had!

What are the big issues we need to address to make sure we achieve net zero? What do you think the challenges and opportunities are in reducing greenhouse gas emissions?

On Tuesday 26 September 2023 we are bringing a group of young people and emerging leaders together to talk about the issues and how we best tackle them.

This session is part of a broader community engagement organised through a partnership of the Conservation Council and South Australians for Climate Action and sponsored by the Department for Environment and Water. The Don Dunstan Foundation is pleased to be working with Democracy Co. to support a broad range of people's inputs into the State's strategy to achieve a net zero emissions future and feedback from the event will be provided to the Deputy Premier and Minister for Climate, Environment and Water to assist the government in developing that strategy.

The report from the Community Climate Conversations work will also be provided to businesses and non-government organisations across the state to inform their thinking about actions to respond to climate change and reduce emissions.

We hope the event will also help participants learn from each other’s experiences and perspectives.

A discussion guide has been developed by a randomly selected group of South Australians and covers all the things we need to talk about if we are going to achieve net zero by 2050. This guide will be used to help prompt conversations at the session, and you can read it here: https://www.democracyco.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Community-Climate-Conversations-Guide.pdf
