Climate Justice Jam
Climate Justice Game Jam
Do you care about the environment? Do you like games? Join us for our Climate Jam – a three-hour workshop where you can collaborate in small groups to create games that explore climate justice in a playful and positive way.
Climate justice means making sure that the people who are most affected by climate change — often those who did the least to cause it — are treated fairly and helped the most.
The climate emergency can be scary to think about. But if we work together, we can overcome these challenges and look forward to a brighter future.
The Climate Jam will be supported by members of the Biome Collective – a creative studio and community focused on enabling people to create, collaborate, and explore new frontiers in games, digital art, and technology.
You can make any type of game you like, but as it is a short workshop, the focus will be on prototyping games with physical media (pens and paper) rather than writing code.

Code of Conduct
https://cyberportal.crabdance.com/s/ddpLFBKNNQTmg6F?opendetails=
Everyone participating in the Climate Justice game jam is required to agree to this Code of Conduct.
We welcome participants of any experience level, and games of any type.
We are dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, mental illness, neurotype, physical appearance, body, age, race, ethnicity, nationality, language, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form.
Participating in our game jam constitutes acknowledgment and acceptance to abide by this Code of Conduct.
Anyone who violates this Code of Conduct may be asked to leave the game jam.
If you experience disrespectful or harassing behaviour, notice that someone else is being disrespected or harassed, or have any other concerns, please speak to Tommy, Claire, Malath or a member of the Dundee Central Library staff, so that one of us can help.
Open door participation
Participation is voluntary. Participants are free to stop taking part at any time. No explanation is required.
Inclusivity
Participants must be supportive and inclusive. They should think about the impact of their words, the privilege they hold, and the relative position of those they interact with. As a community we prioritise marginalised people’s safety above privileged people’s comfort and will make all reasonable efforts to be inclusive.
This policy was adapted from the existing Dundee Tabletop Playtesting Meetup Code of Conduct you can find here: https://playtest.neocities.org/ which is itself based on resources provided by XOXO Community Code of Conduct, the Gauntlet code of Conduct, Geek Feminism, JSConf AU and Django.
