Creating Climate Resilient Landscapes: Coastal & Heathland (Byron Bay)
Description
Creating Climate Resilient Landscapes: Coastal & Heathland (Byron Bay)
Creating Climate Resilient Landscapes is a workshop series aimed at empowering our community to adapt to our changing climate.
The workshops will provide you with the resources you need to build a habitat garden. Our expert presenters provide insights on local endemic native plants that are drought-resistant, fire-retardant, and flood-tolerant, offering habitat and food for a wide range of native wildlife.
The workshops will cover:
- perspectives on climate change in the Northern Rivers and the important basics and theory behind our native ecosystems,
- how these ecosystems are strong and adaptable to our changing climate.
Workshops cover each of our local ecosystems but with a focus on the locality of the workshop.
Workshop format:
- Morning of theory and discussion
- Afternoon visit to a climate resilient ecosystem
Please bring water, a hat, walking shoes and BYO lunch.
This workshop series is a partnership between Plan C and Brunswick Valley Landcare.
