Jacky (Zihe Zhou) - Lead Instructor
Jacky (they/them) was born in Shenzhen, China, and spent much of their youth in Kamloops, British Columbia. Growing up in western Canada, I spent many winters exploring the mountains around Banff and Blackcomb. Those snowy landscapes sparked my love for the outdoors and taught me to appreciate the adventure, challenge, and community that come with spending time in wild places. Today, I'm based in Melbourne, where I share that passion by helping others discover the joy of climbing on real rock. I'm a non-binary climber who believes climbing is about so much more than reaching the top. It has given me confidence, resilience, and a place where I can fully be myself. I know how powerful it is to find a community where you feel seen, supported, and free to express who you are. That's why I created this space. My mission is to help more cis and trans women become confident, independent outdoor climbers while creating a welcoming environment for anyone who wants to express their femininity on the rock. Whether you're touching real rock for the first time or building the skills to climb independently, I'll meet you where you are—with patience, encouragement, and a focus on learning safely. For me, climbing isn't about chasing grades. It's about connection—to nature, to community, and to yourself. I hope every day on the rock leaves you feeling stronger, more capable, and inspired to keep exploring. I can't wait to share that journey with you.

She is one of the very few women-of-colour ACIA qualified climbing guide in Australia, and is also an instructor for The Climbing Company. Jo started bouldering in a gym in Malaysia before moving onto top-rope climbing. She then found herself quitting her advertising job and embarking on an 8-year long rock-climbing trip around the world. She spent that time sport climbing in NZ, Turkiye, Spain, China and Vietnam and eventually ended up in Australia where she learned how to trad climb.
