Cloisonné Tile workshop!
Event description
Learn the art of Cloisonné! In this fun, family friendly and relaxing 3 hour workshop, artists will decorate a cork-backed 8” porcelain tile trivet. Make it a Mother’s Day weekend treat, come with a friend or have fun creating for yourself!
Participants will learn and apply a Cloisonné technique with wax resist and glaze application to achieve stunning results, even for beginners! Bring your own 8x8” sketch or choose from a collection of nature inspired templates that your instructor will have on hand. Tiles will be kiln fired and available for pickup one week later at The Hive.
Your Instructor is Shawna Martin, a local Lake Travis resident and Art teacher at Bee Cave Middle School. Shawna enjoys creating art and trying every media under the sun, then sharing what she learns with others. In addition to public k-12 education and involvement with Texas Art Educators Association, she runs classes for children and adults outside of school!
Class will be located in The Hive gallery by Bee Cave Arts Foundation, in the Hill Country Galleria, across from H&M and Dillard's.
