Closed Captioning Workshop

CLOSED CAPTIONING WORKSHOP 6-8pm 

Learn how to creatively caption an artist film w/ Holly Summerson. 

Join us in exploring the role of captioning in the production and display of moving- image work and learn how to do it yourself. Holly will be guiding us through how to embed captioning into your artistic practice. We will then be having a go at captioning either our own films (so bring any along) or someone else's ahead of our Members film screening. 

Please bring along your own laptop(if you have one, if not send us an email embassygalleryedinburgh@gmail.com and we can arrange an alternative) 

And download the free captioning software called Aegisub before attending. https://aegisub.org/

We will provide tea, coffee and snacks but do bring more substantial food if needed.

More about Holly:

Holly is an animator and artist focused on experimental, mixed-media and community-based work. She draws on her experiences as a Hard of Hearing film-maker and film lover to develop creative closed captions for film and artist moving image.  If you want to find out more about Holly please follow the link to her Website
