Closing celebrations for the Painted River Project: Blue Mountains Rare Upland Swamps exhibition.
A day of art, science, music, food and fun on Parramatta River foreshore
Saturday 8 July, Western Sydney University, Parramatta South Campus, Whitlam Institute
This free event invites the whole community to come and reimagine place through art making.
During the morning, the event will feature an outside science lab run by well-known water scientist Associate Professor Ian Wright providing an opportunity for young and old to examine real creatures and the wonders of water ecology. It will also be an opportunity to get creative, bring your own art making materials or use some of the paint and canvases set up or throw out a rug to paint alongside well-known artists and the community.
In the afternoon we head indoors as we hear from exhibiting artists Reg Mombassa, Lucy Culliton, Adrienne Richardson and Leo Robba before hitting the dance floor for Dog Trumpet, spearheaded by brothers Peter O'Doherty and Reg Mombassa, this will be a great way to farewell this thoughtful exhibition.
