Event description

Bring your good-quality clothing and accessories that you no longer need and swap with like-minded sustainable fashion enthusiasts. This is a fun version of eco shopping that keeps clothes in the circular economy and out of landfill. It’s a collaboration between Randwick City Council, Clothes Swap & Style founder Nina Gbor (War on Waste, ABC TV), and Beatriz from the Plastic Free Coogee.

Our swaps happen every second Saturday of the month as part of Randwick’s Saturday Circle variety of sustainable activities.

Every swap will have a focus (please see below), but we welcome all varieties of clothing and every keen swapper at each swap.

  • April 12 - FASHION REVOLUTION WEEK + Sportswear/Athleisure
  • May 10 - INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PLANET HEALTH + Larger sizes and baggy-style male and female clothing
  • June 14 - WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY + Winter clothes
  • July 12- BOOK WEEK COSTUMES + Kids clothes
  • August 9 - WORLD HUMANITARIAN DAY + Mens clothes
  • September 13 - TEENS' clothes
  • October 11 - HALLOWEEN costumes, accessories and dress up
  • November 8 - Reining in SUMMER
  • December 13 - MEGA SWAP (bring everything - as many quality items as you like!)

Are you ready to revamp your wardrobe the eco-friendly way?

Here's how it works:

  1. Register to attend here on Humanitix
  2. Bring 5 items of high-quality, gently used clothing, shoes, and accessories in good condition. To check in, arrive at 9:45 a.m. The event will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until 12 p.m. Come about 10 a.m., and you'll find nicer items and more swap alternatives.
  3. Listen to the brief Sustainable Fashion talk while we finish sorting and hanging all the swap items so that you can have a great swap experience (10 - 15 mins or so).
  4. Browse to score new-to-you treasures!
  5. Enjoy the satisfaction of reducing fashion waste and fostering a sustainable community.

Here are the guidelines to make the swap even better for everyone:

All items brought to the swap must be clean and in good condition; not worn out or faded, no stains, no mould, not damaged, pilled or odorous. (Good quality also means something you would gift to a friend you respect).

  • WHAT TO BRING: pants, skirts, tops, jumpers, coats, jumpsuits, shirts, shoes, bags, shorts, jackets, blazers, scarves, hats, dresses, sunglasses, jewellery. All these items can be retro, vintage, handmade or from quality medium to luxury brands.
  • WHAT NOT TO BRING: we will not accept underwear, used pyjamas, overused workout gear or children’s clothes.

We look forward to welcoming you to the swap!

Everyone needs to be comfortable with the notion that other attendees will find and take home the items they brought. However, there is no guarantee that the bringer will in return, find the same number of items they brought.

Each month, we will have a short talk about sustainable fashion and what is happening in the industry, delivered by Nina Gbor from Clothes Swap & Style or Beatriz from Plastic Free Coogee.

Let's make a difference together, one swap at a time! Tag your friends, spread the word, and let's create a greener, more stylish world.

Are you ready to revamp your wardrobe the eco-friendly way?

Here's how it works:

1. Register to attend here on Humanitix

2. Bring 5 items of good quality pre-loved clothing, shoes, and accessories in good condition.

3. Wait for us to sort the items from all attendees (15 mins or so) and listen to the talk on Sustainable Fashion

4. Browse to score new-to-you treasures!

5. Enjoy the satisfaction of reducing fashion waste and fostering a sustainable community.

Here are a few just a few guidelines to make the swap even better for everyone:

All items brought to the swap must be clean and in good condition; not worn out or too faded, no pilling, no odorous clothing, stained or damaged. (Good quality also means something you would gift to a friend).

We look forward to welcoming you to the swap!

Please note that each swap is different, with different clothes from you, the attendees who join us. Due to this please understand that everyone needs to be comfortable for thier items to be found as new treasures by other attendees without the gaurantee of finding the same number of items yourself.

Each month we will have a short talk about sustainable fashion and what is happening in the industry delivered by Nina Gbor from Clothes Swap & Style or Beatriz from Plastic Free Coogee.
