Clothes Swap Event

Join us for a Sustainable Clothes Swap Event! 

When: Sunday 20th August, 3-5pm

Where: Ag Hall, Yankalilla Showgrounds

Cost: $15 per person, 5-10 items of clothing

Do you have some lovely dresses that have been sitting in your wardrobe for year that are too good to give to the Op Shop, but you will never wear again...or a few too many pairs of shoes that your not sure what you can do with? 

We want to help our community rehome quality items of clothing to save your money and help keep items out of landfill! The throwaway culture around clothing has worsen progressively over the years, on average most items are worn only seven to ten times before being tossed out. This event will you both get rehome some clothes and restock your wardrobe with some new items all for only $15, which included nibbles, one drink and a fun afternoon with other community members that want to do the same.

This event will start with a short talk from our guest speaker while you enjoy some nibbles and a drink. There will then be an opportunity to ask any questions you might have about sustainable fashion choices, mending clothes and other resources and ways you can rejuvenate your wardrobe without having to fork out money for new clothes. 

Both Men's & Women's clothing, shoes and accessories will be accepted. Each ticket holder can drop off 5-10 items of clothing/accessories at FLEC in the week prior to the event. We ask that you DO NOT drop off clothing that is damaged, poor quality or unwearable. Clothes will not be accepted by people who do not want to participate in the swap itself. Children's clothing will not be accepted, but we encourage attendees to chat to each other at the event and see if others have kids clothing they would like to share amongst themselves.
