Do you want to know more about being sustainably stylish? Have you got clothes, shoes, and accessories you no longer wear? 👗👔👟 Could your wardrobe do with a refresh, but you don’t want to spend big? Then join WMRC's Sustainable Style Swap featuring guest presenter and Style Counsellor, Ciara Lowe-Thiedeman 💃♻️🙌! 

Sustainable style guru and mental-health activist Ciara Lowe-Thiedeman leads with joyful conviction and vulnerability in her work which is changing lives all over Perth. This London-trained award-winning personal stylist is shaking up the world of sustainable personal style through successful keynotes, presentations, and one-on-one coaching sessions. Let the Style Counsellor teach you how to become sustainably stylish, to re-think and reduce textile waste and consider how to BUY LESS, BUY BETTER, LOOK BETTER AND DO BETTER.

Got some items to fix? 🛠️ Then bring any clothing or jewellery need mending as we will have Repair Lab joining us on Saturday between 9.30 am to 12 pm 🧵.

Details:

📅 Date: Saturday 20th April

⏰ Time: 9.30 am - 1 pm

🚩Location: The Grove Library located at 1 Leake St, Peppermint Grove

🚙 Parking: There is street parking along Leake St and public parking is available at the Woolworths across the street.

💰 Cost: $5.00 + booking fee

Tickets are non-refundable. If you cannot make this event, please let us know at least 1 day in advance. Your ticket will then be given to someone on the waitlist.


How it works:

1) Register for a ticket and look through your cupboards to find good-quality items you no longer wear to donate to the swap.

2) Join us between 9.30 am - 10 am and hand your clothes over to be weighed.

3) Have a seat in the presentation room or get your items fixed while the volunteers are sorting. 

4) Relax and enjoy Ciara the Style Counsellor discussing fashion waste and the power of styling from 10am - 11am.

5) Move to the swap room and browse the clothing racks at your leisure between 11am - 1 pm.


❌Please no kids' clothes or bric-a-brac at this event ❌

Please note, this event has limited tickets and includes a waste talk before the clothing swap. Entrance doors will be shut at 10 am, so please arrive promptly. Attendees are expected to stay for the duration of the event. 

Member council tickets are available to residents from Claremont, Cottesloe, Mosman Park, Peppermint Grove & Subiaco. General admission tickets are available for Cambridge, Nedlands and residents from other councils.
