An Evening of Film, Food & Honest Talk

You're googling "aged care options" at 2am. Panicking when your parents forget their medication. Holding it all together while trying to make sure your own life doesn't fall apart.

You're doing a great job. But you need help. And we've got you.

Millions of Australians are caring for ageing parents right now - Most are doing it alone - overwhelmed, underprepared, terrified of making the wrong call. The system is a maze, the conversations are impossible, and nobody tells you how to do this.

In March 2026, the award-winning documentary Careless launches on Netflix, exposing what happens when aged care gets handed over to big business, told through the voices of older Australians fighting to stay home and the daughters trying to make sense of the mess.

But we're not making you watch it alone on your couch at midnight. We're bringing the film, the filmmakers, and the Club Sandwich community to five cities for an evening that actually gets it.

Here's what's happening:

Panel hosted by Sarah Macdonald (Club Sandwich podcast host, veteran broadcaster) with regular Clubbers, intriguing local guests and Violet Guides who understand what you're going through
Real talk with the people who made Careless - Sue Thomson and Adam Farrington-Williams on why they made this film and why it matters now
Complimentary club sandwich and bubbles (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) because you deserve something nice
90-minute screening of Careless
Chats and connection - meet people who get it, plus free access to tools and support that actually help

You've got them. We've got you.

Every attendee gets free access to:

Violet's Care Compass - a simple tool to help you have those impossible conversations about care preferences before crisis hits
Violet's Guided Support Programs - free, evidence-based support from trained Violet Guides (fully funded through Carer Gateway)
Vera 75 assessment - a 15-min conversation that helps you understand where your parent is on the ageing journey, how to navigate the system and manage everything that comes with caring for ageing parents
