One of our dastardly suspects has murdered Emcee! Oh no!

They cannot go to burlesque rest until SOMEONE is apprehended for this heinous burlesque crime. Double Oh no! 

Unfortunately due to a unique combination of black magic, dumb luck and a chronically underfunded burlesque justice system (look, none of us make enough performing to pay our very progressive burlesque taxes), their soul cannot go to burlesque rest until YOU convict the ne’erdowell and put them in burlesque jail for their burlesque crimes. Triple Oh no!

Never fear! Conveniently, three likely suspects have emerged with a handful of potential murder weapons and suspicious costume pieces were left at the scene of the crime. Our game is deceptively simple  -  can you figure out WHO killed Emcee, WHAT murder weapon was used and most importantly for a burlesque show, what the suspect was WEARing?

Welcome to Burlesque World - where Emcees host shows from beyond the grave, petty disputes are resolved through cartoon violence and justice is metered out via audience participation. Remember kids: The ultimate burlesque punishment is an empty room with fluorescent lighting.

Developed with a generous grant from Flazéda, this roleplay-come-game-show blends classic murder mystery dinner theatre, burlesque and social deduction tabletop roleplay games (like Dungeons & Dragons). Each show features a unique case constructed collaboratively by the cast using a TTRPG system created for this show by our forever Game Master, Happi Valley. It's part improvised theatre, part whodunnit and all queer, camp, sparkly sensuality!

Doors at 6pm for $18 French Martinis, light refreshments and preliminary investigations.

Access information

The Piccadilly lounge has automatic doors and step-free access to both the foyer and the lounge performance space. There is also an accessible bathroom in the foyer.

Seating is padded booths and a mix of stools and padded backed chairs.
Please note: Audience members are encouraged to explore the performance space for clues throughout the show - please bring an aid if you need one <3

There are two access parking bays on Childers st outside the venue and two more along Barton tce - all other parking is street parking.
Easily accessible by public transport with Stop 6 on O'Connell st directly outside the venue (G10, 209, 228, 224 & 222 buses) & Stop 6 on Jeffcott st (5min walk - 230, 232, 235, 238, 239 Buses).
Please note: Pavement along Childers st is really uneven, mobility aid users may need to travel in the street.
