CLUMP Reading_2 : Boy Renaissance
Event description
CLUMP Reading is back for another easy Sunday night showcasing the freshest Meanjin writing talent. This episode will be featuring Boy Renaissance - an incredible performance poet, theatre maker, future psychotherapist and all over legend. Their performance has captured audiences across Australia and the UK for their ferocity, courage, and electricity. Boy has won numerous poetry slams nationwide including the Bellingen Reader Writer’s Festival Slam, received an honourable mention in the Melbourne Spoken Word Prize 2016, was runner up in the Nimbin Poetry Worldcup 2019, and has toured their work across numerous festivals and major events. Having premiered two plays at Melbourne Fringe Festival, as well as starring in and producing numerous immersive and site-specific theatre productions, Boy Renaissance infuses their theatre experience with spoken word, pushing the genre of poetry and performance to unprecedented edges. Boy currently tours high schools; teaching poetry, self-expression, and running LGBTQIA+ workshops for young people, while studying a Bachelor of Counselling and Psychotherapy. On their off days you can find them chalking poetry on a blank wall, or playing dungeons and dragons.
This is not to be missed - an incredible night of words waits for you.
