Agenda

  • 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Composting and food waste with Bec Bowie (Estabar Cafe)

Bec Bowie set up the icon Newy beachside cafe ESTABAR and ran it for 20 years. What she established and stood for were sustainable ways to run your business while building a strong team and community. She is now a representative of Circular Organics and has jumped head first into a career in Food Waste for Hospitality guiding businesses towards the National FOGO target for 2030. She's also an all-round legend in her everyday domestic practice of finding the best ways to minimise our waste in our households and fostering relationships with farmers and ethical local businesses. Bec will be setting up Clyde St Arts' very first compost bin and showing you how to minimise your food waste in your household or business.

  • 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Pull Apart your broken Nerf Guns and bring your Soft Plastics with Jess Hodge (Resourceful Living)

At Resourceful Living, Jess is recycling plastics into functional material. In this session, she invites you to bring your broken nerf gun so she can show you how to break it up and dispose of it ethically - she couldn't stand the idea of it sitting in landfill. Jess is also a representative for Curby soft plastics waste company and is inviting you to bring your bag of small plastics to make up Clyde St Arts first soft plastics collection point. Find out more about Jess at https://resourcefulliving.com.au/

  • 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Led by Bernie (from Metro Cycles), Newcastle Bicycle Workshop delivers community-powered pop-ups, to keep bikes on the road and build hands-on repair skills.

  • 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

eWaste sessions including laptop and small electronics servicing

Wes from The Full Circle Collective leads hands-on eWaste sessions, helping the community service and extend the life of laptops and small electronics.
