Event description

The Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA) is proud and excited to announce the new look CMAA Achiever Awards. These awards are non-competitive acknowledgements of individuals or groups, both contemporary and legacy, who have made a significant contribution to the Australian country music scene.

These acknowledgements will be announced on 16 November, and presented at our inaugural ‘Presentation Night’ to be held on Saturday 23 November at JMC Academy in Sydney. In addition to the awards presentation in the evening, the CMAA is especially proud to announce as a precursor to the awards, a Country Music Industry Symposium, comprising of a series of professional panels, to be held in a separate afternoon session at the same venue on the same date.

The CMAA Achiever Awards fall into two general categories. The Legacy Awards will bring to attention key personalities from our history who have been long standing supporters and achievers. The Contemporary Awards will focus on personalities who have made significant contributions in the last 12 months. The awards will cover songwriting, artists, media, creative industries, musicians and more. The awards will be decided by the current CMAA Board, with an aim to create an inclusive and overall recognition of the contributions of key historic and contemporary figures within our community.

The Industry Symposium will include moderated panels and Q and A’s with some of our industry’s most experienced creators and professionals. Covering songwriting, creative industries, PR/Marketing and vocational topics, these informal sessions serve as both an information sharing avenue, and a social gathering where the attendees can network and connect with the panellists and other attending artists. Confirmed panellists include Allan Caswell, Nardia Drayton, Will Day, Michael Carpenter, Abbie Ferris, Lindsay Waddington, Lyn Taylor and Perrin Finlay-Brown.
