Event description
FBR café presents: CUTS n CUPS 005
DIGGY DOO'S, Tamongotchi + friends
2004 called, they want their japanese digital pets back. We said no. We have trained them to DJ and they like pour-over now.
My interdimensional time-space pager that is part of my EDC (Which also includes a Moleskine notebook, a Lamy Pico pen, Small Pocket Knife, Poy-Sian MK II, Burt's bees peppermint, and a cherry MX blue switch with PBT keycap) has been blowing up since the whispers of the underworld got word that Tamon and Diggy's were doing a CNC on the same night!
It's not been easy keeping the voice at bay, let alone managing multiple class action lawsuits against the Earth Federation Time Travel Association, Sydney City Council, and the Federal Administrative Review Tribunal (FART). Who knew the higher powers would have issues with our alleged digital pet enslavement, us allegedly making almost addictive and incredibly delicious coffee, and us allegedly putting on the juiciest underground function since the brass age.
I was actually in contact with Julius Ceasar, he said he can't make it because he has to open a new bath house, but he will be sending some people from the empire to visit on his behalf (he's a huge third wave coffee fan).
Make sure you bring your instapumps and do your skincare routine. This one's going to get GRIMEY

The CULTURE
Oli Main: 1800-1830 [DIGITAL]
Oli Main is the sonic equivalent of a UFO sighting. Rare, exciting, perplexing and bound to leave you with a sense of confused paranoia. Half mad scientist, half intergalactic tour guide, get ready to strap in. With Oli at the decks, you're in for a wonky, bass-heavy trip through the unknown.
Christian From Legal: 1830-1900 [DIGITAL]
Christian from legal is neither a lawyer nor a Christian. We don't know who he is, he just keeps rocking up behind the decks and trying to put his USB in whilst saying 'let me cook'.
Tamongotchi: 1900-2000 [DIGITAL]
Tamongotchi is a link between worlds. As elusive as he is mysterious. Which is barely at all. Whether it's behind the decks, in the studio, on the camera, or at the function; he does not rest. The term eclectic doesn't do justice.
Charlie Shell: 2000-2100 [DIGITAL]
Charlie Shell's sets are about as unpredictable as a millennial's coffee order. With selections that are frothy one minute then warm and earthy the next, he has a cup for everyone, and it's always served hot.
Moss: 2100-2200 [DIGITAL]
Imagine the fusion of man and machine, a perfect hybrid set to save the human race, but instead became a producer. Moss is basically hard-wired with the latest in music producer technology and set to lock in for an hour of sounds you may or may not have heard. Will the world be saved? We can only hope… Find out on this Friday's episode.
The COFFEE
The center of sydney coffee scene. FBR cafe presents DIGGY DOO'S!
FBR's coffee would be very different and probably shit if it wasn't for the incredible guidance and patience of Mr Diggy's (Paul aka Paul Lee aka Paulee aka coffee guy)
I spent countless hours cooking up my evil plans for world domination in his lovely bridge street café, discovering my own love for coffee. Paul's influence on FBR café's brewing ethos as well as my own views on hospitality have been greatly influenced by observing and interacting with the space, coffee, and craftsmanship that Paul is involved with.
I wanted to save this roastery for when I was confident the event could be what I envisioned it to be when it began, and now I am.
I hope you're as excited as I am.
Ticket prices include unlimited access to all coffee on the night.
Subject to lines.
See you soon,
love, arikami
