Co-Designing Healthier Climate Policies: Toolkit Launch
Event description
About the event:
Join us for the public launch of a toolkit to support climate policymakers in considering health outcomes in policy development.
Policy makers are developing climate policies at the local, state and national levels to address the effects of a changing climate on communities. These policies may focus on mitigating climate change through emissions reduction or on adapting to climate change effects, but will inevitably impact the health outcomes of the communities in which they are implemented.
There has been limited research on if and how policymakers consider health when developing climate policy. To address this, we have co-designed a research project with state and local government policymakers, with generous support from VicHealth.
This event launches the initial suite of resources that comprises a climate and health policy toolkit to support climate policymakers in accounting for health during policy development.
Join us in person or online to learn more about the project, the toolkit, and future plans for supporting ‘healthier’ climate policy development.
Please note that this event will not be recorded.
