Event description

As the planet warms and sea levels rise, islands are being consumed by the sea and homes and landmarks are being washed away. Our international panel considers what can be done to address the increasing threats to coastlines from climate change and other environmental damage.

Panelists include:
Kharishar Kahfi has been a journalist at The Jakarta Post since 2016, focusing on science and environmental issues across Indonesia. His notable work includes in-depth multimedia coverage on coastal erosion in Demak, Central Java.

Thor Kerr is the author of 'To the Beach' (UWAP 2015), a book about community resistance to coastal development in Fremantle,

Presented in association with the Maritime Museum and with the support of UWA Institute of Advanced Studies and Lotterywest.
