Event description

Join an immersive coastal walking tour with renowned restaurant chef Elijah Attard where you'll forage edible plants and learn about the rich and diverse flora of Sydney's South Coast.

Chef Elijah is recognised as one of Sydney’s most innovative plant-based chefs, from cooking at 2 hatted vegan restaurant Yellow to creating the Chef’s Table vegan degustation experience at The Emerald Room with wild foraged plants.

During the tour, you'll learn about a dozen local wild plants, including the cultivation, historical journeys, and cooking tips for them. Discover how world-class chefs, including Elijah himself, are elevating their dishes with the distinct flavours of wild ingredients.

Of Earth's estimated 400,000 plant species, we could eat some 300,000 with the right imagination, boldness and preparation. Yet humans eat a mere 200 species globally, with most supermarkets selling less than 40 species. Chef Elijah gives a glimpse into what is possible to forage and eat from the coast, and how to incorporate them in cooking.

The tour begins at Oak Park Beach in Cronulla and concludes outside a cafe at Cronulla beach. Participants are welcome to join Chef Elijah for lunch at the cafe after the tour and a swim if the weather is nice! (Lunch is not included in the ticket).

Join us for this incredible Sunday experience — bring family and friends or come individually and meet new friends!
