Event description

Join us for a 2-part learning experience exploring the dynamics of collaboration, drawing on research-backed Cobeo Tools and facilitated by Dr. Maya Haviland, Research Lead in the Scaffolding Cultural Co-Creativity Project at the Australian National University (ANU).

Why Collaboration Matters

Effective collaboration is essential for addressing complex social, economic, and environmental challenges. However collaboration can consume valuable resources and sometimes reinforce existing problems, particularly for vulnerable communities.

These workshops focus on the human and relational aspects of collaboration. The Cobeo approach facilitates inclusive co-creation processes and provides frameworks for navigating difficult dynamics. Participants develop foundational skills and knowledge to work more effectively across differences and address challenges that require diverse perspectives and collective action.

This learning experience welcomes:

  • Individuals interested in deepening their understanding of collaborative dynamics
  • People currently engaged in collaborative work or looking to incorporate more collaboration into their work or practice
  • Students taking part in the McCusker Institute SoCIETIE Curriculum at the ANU

This workshop brings together a mixed cohort of learners, creating a rich environment that bridges academic and practical perspectives.

 Structure:

Two 3-hour face to face sessions featuring:

  • Role-play scenarios based on real-world situations
  • Guided activities using Cobeo Tools
  • Reflection on your collaborative experiences
  • Pre-workshop materials and post-workshop support

This is a 2 part learning experience consisting of two 3-hour workshops - participation is required in both workshop sessions

Workshop 1 - 10am-1pm Friday 14th March 2025

Workshop 2 - 1pm-4pm Monday 17th of March 2025

What you'll gain:

  • Enhanced self-awareness as a collaborative practitioner
  • Critical thinking skills for complex collaborative contexts
  • Application strategies for your specific environment
