Price FREE Get Tickets

Event description

Ella Mittas is a chef and food writer who built her career working under prolific figures such as Brigitte Hafner, Annie Smithers and Ismail Tosun in Australia, honing her skills at London’s NOPI. She shares her expertise and culinary skills through cooking classes, curating and catering events, and contributing recipes for publications including The Design Files and Broadsheet.

In 2022, Ella self-published her first book Ela! Ela! (meaning 'come, come' in Greek), a series of stories and recipes taking readers on a heartfelt journey of food, culture and belonging. Following its sell-out success, Ela! Ela! is being republished this year, reaching fans across Australia as well as through the UK, Europe and US.

This May, join Ella Mittas for a coffee and conversation with award-winning author and broadcaster Alice Zaslavsky as they explore Ella’s culinary travels around the world, her relationship with her Greek-Australian identity, and connecting to culture through food.

This is a free event, but bookings are required. Standing Room filter coffee will be available for a gold coin donation.
