Event description

Join us for coffee, kai, and conversation at a relaxed, family-friendly community event in Haewai Houghton Valley. This is your chance to share your thoughts, ideas, and local knowledge about how our community can respond to the challenges of climate change.

We’ll be running interactive activities for all ages, including a colouring contest and lego building for kids, while the adults can share their ideas, experiences and knowledge about the neighbourhood and explore what makes Haewai Houghton Valley special. Whether you’ve been involved in local projects for years or are new to thinking about climate adaptation, your voice is important.

Plus, everyone who takes part goes in the draw to win a 200-litre emergency water tank - a fun (and practical!) way to get your household prepared for anything.

This event is part of the Local Climate Adaptation Pilot in the Paekawakawa / Haewai catchment, where Council, mana whenua, and the community are working side by side to shape a shared vision for a resilient and thriving community.

Bring the whānau, grab a cuppa and join the conversation!
