Event description

Term 1 : Unlocking Potential: Grants and Resources for Education

When: 1 April 2025, 4-6.30pm
Where: Yarrila Place (27 Gordon Street, Coffs Harbour)

For our first meeting of 2025, we will be exploring the opportunities and resources available to local schools and centres to support you to grow your sustainable project from an inspired idea to a thriving success!

Grant Writing Workshop (Anna Juodvalkis, Ozgreen)
Discover the opportunities for funding in this empowering Grant Writing workshop, where you’ll learn essential skills to secure grants, create impactful projects and be inspired by a local case study showcasing how a grant transformed student learning and sustainability efforts. Anna's extensive background as the Grants Officer for Bellingen Shire Council and facilitating grant writing workshops will be invaluable to helping you sharpen your skills. Anna has tailored the workshop to local educators and will share her grant writing formula and demonstrate, step by step, how to secure a grant for your project.

Inspiring tour of Yarrila Place (Hosted by The City of Coffs Harbour)
City of Coffs Harbour Council staff will give us a personalised tour of the Council’s state-of-the-art gallery, library and audio-visual equipment available free to schools and centres. With a background in sustainable education, they'll inspire us to consider the potential for exciting projects and initiatives where you can integrate meaningful learning and sustainable action.

Local initiatives, events and story sharing
The workshop and discussion will be followed by a meeting to connect with other local educators and hear about sustainability initiatives in the region.

Warm drinks and delicious afternoon tea will be provided.

The Coffs Harbour Sustainable Schools Network is a collaborative initiative of Environmental Education NSW (EENSW) delivered by Sustainable Schools NSW, funded by MidWaste and the City of Coffs Harbour.

Sustainable Schools Network meetings are an excellent opportunity to connect with other educators passionate about sustainability. We meet once a term to share inspiring initiatives and how local educators are implementing them. To stay informed about upcoming events, register for the Coffs Harbour Sustainable Schools Network mailing list by contacting coordinator.chcc@sustainableschoolsnsw.org.au or via this link.
