Research plays an important role in promoting a culture of innovation and evidence-based care. Come and hear all about the excellent research work that is happening at Colac Area Health. We have an inspiring keynote speaker: Professor Anna Ugalde, to kick off our symposium!

Prof. Anna Ugalde is a health services and cancer researcher; whose work centres on advancing equitable cancer care, particularly for people living in rural and remote communities. Based at Deakin University, Professor Ugalde is a current Cancer Research Fellowship Victoria recipient, and a defining feature of her research is its emphasis on genuine partnership and community-led priorities. She actively supports rural- and remote-led research, working alongside communities to ensure that research agendas are shaped by the needs and priorities of those the work is intended to serve. She collaborates closely with consumers, clinicians, and community stakeholders to co-design research that is both relevant and impactful.
