Event description

Nick Vlandis will show you methods on how to ditch the Real Book and learn jazz standards in a practical way allowing you to hear new tunes with ease!

Elevate your musical prowess in this dynamic exploration led by a seasoned expert, Nick Vlandis!

Nick Vlandis received his Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from the University of South Carolina where he studied jazz piano under Bert Ligon and classical piano under Phillip Bush. Nick has been actively engaged in the South Carolina music scene since 2015 when he began performing with local Myrtle Beach party and cover bands. Since then, he has dedicated his time to becoming an authority of jazz music, arranging, composing, teaching and performing. Nick has a wonderful way of presenting simple to complex materials in a very easily digestible format.

A driving beat in jazz education, the ColaJazz Foundation supports our community with the ColaJazz Academy - an exciting series of jazz classes and workshops taught by authorities of their crafts. These sessions are for anyone who enjoys learning, growing, and exploring; especially, those who have an inclination towards jazz (a.k.a. black American music).
