Event description

Greene Moon Studios

Collective Calm wellbeing sessions for Therapists, Frontline Line workers, Mental Health Clinicians, Support Workers & Allied Health:

A space to tend to our nervous systems, connect with our reflective art making practice and develop peer-supported relationships that give meaning, and create the capacity to learn with each other.

In order to uphold our capacity to support others we need to engage in self-inquiry, creative exploration and be pouring back into ourselves. Nina Simons (2019), suggests that the possibilities of understanding and advancing our learning opens when practitioners knit together through sharing vulnerability in webs of relational caring and empathic connection.

These 2 hour sessions offer a space o be guided through somatic practices that include breath work, meditation, visualisation, grounding, yin yoga inspired practices and sensation awareness.

The intention is to tend our nervous systems and safely be with the body and breath, releasing tension and restlessness. As this is a workshop shared with peers the practice will be simple and contained, individuals can be referred to private somatic practitioners if they wish to go deeper outside of the space. The movement practice will be trauma informed and respectful of cultural practices, as well as suitable for all levels of experience, and can be adjusted as required, with options provided for each shape.

Following the somatic practice, participants will be invited to have a cup of tea and engage in reflective art making and group discussion. The aim is to make space for intentional moments to playfully explore, relax, and to fuel our passion through creativity and connection.

- A variety of art materials, yoga props and tea will be provided. You are welcome to bring along your own visual diary if you would like to work in this throughout the session, along with any specific art materials you may prefer to use.

- Comfortable loose clothing recommended.
