COLOMBIA RISING - All Ages Event

'Aquí se comparte, lo mío es tuyo’

Colombia Rising is a community-led benefit event created to support the people and communities affected by the devastating 7.4-magnitude earthquake that struck Colombia on 10 August 2026.

The earthquake has caused widespread destruction, with more than 270 people killed, almost 4,000 injured and hundreds still missing. Thousands of homes and buildings have been damaged or destroyed. These figures continue to change every day as rescue and assessment efforts continue, and the full extent of the devastation is still unfolding.

The event will bring our community together through live music, food, art, film and culture, creating a space to connect, support one another and raise funds. All profits will be donated to support those affected by the earthquake.

Colombia is not simply a country defined by borders. Colombia is a communal pot, strangers risking their lives to save another stranger; it is understanding that things do not belong to those who own them, but to those who need them most. Colombia is the strength of Chocó, where even when the river washes everything away, people return to plant again; it is the kindness of the Eje Cafetero, cities built by the hands of their own people, where neighbours come together and no one hesitates to lend a hand when someone needs it. It is the joy of Valle del Cauca, turning every difficulty into music and every hardship into dance. We are the seed that breaks through the cracks in the pavement, the root that finds a way where there seemed to be none. We are a people who fall, dust ourselves off, hold each other’s hands, and rise again.

100% of the profits from this event will be donated to Oxfam Australia – Colombian Earthquake Relief and UNICEF Australia – Colombian Earthquake Emergency Response. Both organisations are already working with local communities and partners, particularly in Chocó and Buenaventura, where communities are facing severe damage and difficult access.

Colombia Rising es un evento benéfico impulsado por la comunidad, creado para apoyar a las personas y comunidades afectadas por el devastador terremoto de magnitud 7,4 que sacudió a Colombia el 10 de agosto de 2026.

El terremoto ha causado una destrucción generalizada, con más de 270 personas fallecidas, cerca de 4.000 heridas y cientos que aún permanecen desaparecidas. Miles de viviendas y edificios han resultado afectados o destruidos. Estas cifras continúan cambiando cada día mientras avanzan las labores de rescate y evaluación, y la verdadera magnitud de la devastación aún se sigue revelando.

El evento reunirá a nuestra comunidad a través de música en vivo, comida, arte, cine y cultura, creando un espacio para encontrarnos, apoyarnos mutuamente y recaudar fondos. Todas las ganancias serán donadas para apoyar a las personas afectadas por el terremoto.

Colombia no es simplemente un país definido por fronteras. Colombia es una olla comunitaria, es un desconocido arriesgando su vida para salvar a otro desconocido; es entender que las cosas no son del dueño, sino de quien más las necesita. Colombia es la fuerza del Chocó, que aun cuando el río arrasa con todo, vuelve a sembrar; es la solidaridad del Eje Cafetero, ciudades construidas con las manos de su propia gente, donde los vecinos se unen y nadie duda en tender la mano cuando alguien lo necesita. Es la alegría del Valle del Cauca, que convierte cada golpe en música y cada dificultad en baile. Somos la semilla que brota entre las grietas del pavimento, la raíz que encuentra un camino donde parecía no haberlo. Somos un pueblo que cae, se sacude el polvo, se toma de las manos y vuelve a levantarse.

El 100% de las ganancias de este evento será donado a Oxfam Australia – Respuesta al terremoto en Colombia y UNICEF Australia – Respuesta de emergencia por el terremoto en Colombia. Ambas organizaciones ya están trabajando con comunidades y aliados locales, especialmente en Chocó y Buenaventura, donde las comunidades enfrentan graves daños y dificultades de acceso.
