Colonisation of Birrarung in Suburban Naarm

Join a guided 8 km walk along the Birrarung from Yarra Flats Entry Road to the Wurundjeri Trail in East Kew to explore the rich colonial history of this section of the river and how its landscape has changed over the past 200 years.

Along the way, you'll learn how the Birrarung and its surrounding environment have been shaped, understood and experienced since European settlement, while enjoying one of Melbourne's beautiful riverside walking trails.

Whether you're interested in local history, the Birrarung's changing landscape or simply enjoy a good walk, this is a wonderful opportunity to experience the river from a different perspective.

• Most Riverfest events are free, and many have limited places with long waitlists. Please only book if you're confident you can attend, so others don't miss out. Bookings are limited to 2 tickets for smaller events and 4 tickets for larger events.
