Come and Sing with Voices of Birralee and Celebrate 150 years of Stanthorpe

Singers from the Stanthorpe region are invited to sing with Voices of Birralee as they tour Warwick|Stanthorpe|Tenterfield!
Artistic staff Paul Holley OAM, Jenny Moon and Justine Favell along with more than 30 singers in the Birralee Tourers Choir will lead singers through fun and engaging workshops culminating in a presentation of their work. We will also be asking all choristers involved to learn a song to celebrate the 150 years of Stanthorpe and we extend an invitation to everyone in the community to be part of this MASSED SONG performance on the day.
WHAT: Set amidst over 1000 student artworks you will participate in a practical singing workshop and performance with the Voices of Birralee Children’s Choir
WHEN: Thursday September 22
WHO: Open to students aged 9 – 17
WHAT TO BRING / WEAR:
Wear jeans/pants and a plain bright coloured t-shirt, bring a full water bottle, an afternoon tea snack (nut free). Parents must sign child in and out.
COST: There is no cost but all singers must pre-register.
TIMES:
1:45pm Children arrive & parents sign them in
2:00pm Warm-ups and singing games
2:30pm Workshop 1 – Learn a Torres Strait Song and Dance for performance
3:15pm Short break (BYO afternoon tea)
3:30pm Workshop 2 – Learn another song to perform
4:15pm Short break - Parents and community members join to rehearse the massed song
4:30pm Massed Song rehearsal – Stanthorpe 150 years
5:00pm Concert
5:30pm Finish and parents sign children out
