Come and Try Sailing with Sailability WA
Event description
Come and Try sailing with Sailability WA.
Participants with disabilities are invited to come join us for a morning of trying out sailing in our accessible sailing boats. We have accessible Hansa 303's available to use and keelboats as well.
All our volunteers are experienced sailors willing to help people with disabilities give sailing a go.
No experience required! Just a willingness to give sailing a try.
Please let us know what support you require to safely get into and around a boat, and if you will be attending this event with a support person.
When you arrive at the venue please find your way to the dinghy division area to check in/ sign in with the Sailability tent:
- Sail at 10AM for an approximate 1.5 hour session on the water.
- Let a volunteer know which boat you would like to try out sailing in, either a dinghy or keelboat.
- Then your volunteer skipper or crew will introduce you to the boat you you will be sailing in, and provide some assistance to embark.
- Please arrive at 9:30, 30 min before the session starts to be introduced to your volunteer skipper and or crew, put on a life jacket and make your way towards the boat.
