Social Sailing on a Sunday with Sailability WA
Members are invited to come join us for a morning sailing in our accessible sailing boats. We have 4 accessible Hansa 303's available to use and a Sonar keelboat as well. Not a member of Sailability WA? You are welcome to sail with us by purchasing a ticket!
All our volunteers are experienced sailors willing to help people with disabilities give sailing a go.
Not sure you have enough sailing experience? All OK, you just need to be willing to give sailing a try supported by a volunteer or support person with sailing experience. The Sunday morning sessions are all about learning more about sailing in either a dinghy or keelboat.
Please let us know what support you require to safely get into and around a boat, and if you will be attending this event with a support person.
When you arrive at the venue please find your way to the dinghy division area to check in/ sign in with Sailability WA.
Look for the Sailability flags set up in the area outside dinghy division, we are situated there.
- Sail between 10AM and 12PM on the nominated sailing days.
- Let a volunteer know which boat you would like to sail in, either a dinghy or keelboat.
- Then your volunteer skipper or crew will introduce you to the boat you will be sailing in, and provide some assistance to embark.
- Please arrive 30 min before the session starts to be introduced to your volunteer skipper and or crew, put on a life jacket (PFD) and make your way towards the boat.
Please text or call 0404 145 499 if you have booked a ticket and can't make it on the day, as we would like to let our volunteers know.
