Transform your relationship to shelter anf nature and uplevel your survival skills.

The desire to create our own shelter in nature is instinctual not just to kids who build cubbies, but to our ancestral human nature. Its also crucial for survival. Just ask Gina, winner of 'Alone Australia'.

This hands-on workshop is a very unique opportunity for 12-14 adults to experience constructing a primitive shelter as a tribe using surrounding natural materials, on a wild section of the Onkaparinga floodplain in the Adelaide Hills. And spending the night together in it. Exact address to be supplied.

We will open with an acknowledgement of the original Peramangk people and country, before being guided through deep nature connection practices to drop us into closer relations with the land.

We will spend the rest of the day constructing a shelter with basic guidance, hand tools and coyote-style mentoring. Everyone will be expected to play a part so a reasonable level of fitness and dexterity is required. But no experience is necessary. Before snuggling up with your new tribe to spend the night in our temporary home. We will start and finish the experience with a sharing circle to set our intentions, share stories and help integrate the experience, in a ceremonial way.

Delicious lunch, dinner and breakfast incorporating wild & local/ organic food is included, and participants may bring warm clothes and/or a blanket or sleeping bag. We will also have a fire. You will need to bring a small axe and or handsaw, a waterbottle and appropriate clothing for the weather. We will go ahead rain hail or shine, unless weather forecast is extreme. If so we will postpone the event 48 hrs beforehand. Check your email for final instructions and reminders.

This experiential workshop will draw from universal earth-based ancestral wisdom, principles and teachings from sources including the Stalking Wolf Lineage passed on through Kate Ryde and Sam Robertson of Nature Philosophy, Coyote Mentoring (Jon Young et al) and other training and experiential knowledge of Ecologist, Rewilding Facilitator and Nature Connection Mentor, Tiffany Schultz from Conscious Lifestyles. (Gina from Alone was also trained in the Stalking Wolf lineage). Conscious Lifestyles also acknowledges and appreciates the inspiration of First Nations of this continent, their custodial cultures and continuing relationship with the land on which we operate.

Come explore your connection with the fundamentals of home, shelter, and our home in nature through connecting deeply with this wild piece of Peramangk country. And indeed through helping to building your own temporary shelter for the night. Working and spending the night with like-minded tribe etc. We will also explore ‘the nature of home’ through sharing the experience of nature before and after building and being 'rebirthed' by the earth in the shelter.
