Come Paint a Gourd with Ms Rona!
Event description
Come Paint a Gourd with Ms. Rona!
Gourds are a fun and unique art medium. In this class, we will stick to basics (all levels welcome!!) and you will create your own masterpiece. You will choose your very own gourd from many different shapes and sizes, have access to paints, all supplies and tools, and have Ms. Rona's guidance to elevate your creativeness. Bring a friend, child or partner and you can both work on ONE gourd, or each sign up to create your very own gourd (One admission is for one gourd; Up to 2 can work on one gourd).
You will learn about the global history of gourds, even how to grow gourds in your garden, learn about other decorative finishes, and even have a show and tell of Ms. Rona's personal and worldwide collection. This is a family friendly experience so please join us and let your creativity flow!
Gourd Artist Rona Thornton has been involved with gourd art for 25 years. She works out of her home studio to create simple pieces using techniques learned and practiced over the years. She’s also the Treasurer of the Texas Gourd Society and is very active in the local Capital of Texas Gourd Patch. Her love of gourds and educating the public has led her to actively pursue a Community Outreach Program to local libraries, assisted living communities, art guilds, schools, Girl Scouts, garden clubs, home school groups, and many more.
