Every Wednesday morning I host a small writing circle at Joy Cafe in Maleny.

We write together for an hour and a half. I share a short teaching each week. Sometimes people read something aloud. Sometimes we use a "hot seat" to untangle a creative block together.

No need to come every week. Come when you feel like it.

On voice, shame, and the work of mercy

Grace Heers writes stories of human vulnerability with sensitivity and strength. Her debut memoir, Darling Humans, is set in Sydney's Kings Cross — a story of addiction, silence, and bearing witness, both to others and to herself.

Through her writing and workshops, she invites others to uncover their own stories — drawing on over a decade amplifying the voices of refugees, survivors, and those on the margins, including years spent living and working in Thailand against child sex trafficking.
