Event description

Dave Rattigan (SiriusXM, NESN) headlines Saturday, Oct. 14 as Scamps Comedy presents comedy in the back pub at Murphy's Taproom, 494 Elm Street, Manchester NH.

He's joined by Man-Mountain Dan Donahue, schoolteacher-comedian Bill Douglas (Edinburg Fringe Festival) and health coach-comedian Crystal Gordon.

Tickets are $20 in advance or at the door (cash only). Showtime is 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7.

“There’s nothing funny about the way he looks, until he gives that deadpan look of his,” popular blogger Ralph Fatello (RalphsPic.com) wrote about Rattigan recently. “His outward appearance is something out of a mature GQ magazine.  He looks like a cross between a semi hip banker, and your mild-mannered father-in-law.  Again, Dave is the master of completely dismantling himself in front of a crowd of strangers.  I’m always torn as to whether I should console him, or just laugh my ass off like everyone else.  What other job is there where your whole gig is to make fun of yourself?  Comedians make fun of themselves.  That takes guts and talent.  Dave does it in a way that resonates with his audience.  Especially when he gets on his age.  (He’s not that old. 64)  But he makes it seem like he’s got one foot in the grave.  Especially when it comes to the opposite sex.  I looked around at all the 60 plus men in the audience, and they were all laughing at each other as were their wives and girlfriends.  You know they (comics) are hitting home when the audience starts to point at each other….”

Man-mountain Dan Donahue works in theaters around New England as the opener for Juston McKinney, and he’s also shared the stage with Boston headliners such as Jimmy Dunn, Mike McDonald, Christine Hurley, Mike Donovan, Paul Nardizzi and Dave Rattigan. He was selected for the prestigious Hampton Beach Comedy Festival in 2022, and recently acted in his first film, the horror-comedy short Mars Hill Bait & Tackle.

Bill Douglas is a middle school science teacher by day. At night he’s still a middle school science teacher, but also travels around New England performing comedy. In addition to New England, he’s performed at clubs in the Midwest and San Francisco. He was a 2022 selection as a performer at the Edinburgh (Scotland) Fringe Festival. He has shared the stage with headliners such as Jimmy Dunn, Paul Nardizzi, Carolyn Plummer, and Paul D’Angelo.

Health coach/comedian Crystal Gordon travels all around New England sharing her take on what makes life worth laughing at. Among those headliners that she's shared the stage with: Paul Nardizzi, Dave Rattigan, Jason Merrill and Chris D.

Come early for dinner. and enjoy the biggest selection of beer in New Hampshire.
