Comedy for your Mental Health - Kenilworth
Event description
Laughter is the best medicine! It's no joke, because even scientists say so.
Did you know that you can't feel anxious when you're laughing? Well, it turns out its true - so come and join us for some laughs in Kenilworth's cutest cafe and remind yourself what it feels like to have a giggle.
Anna Brennan and Greg Sullivan have both experienced their tough times and recognise 'it's not weak to speak' when life feels unbearable. Their comedy doesn't shy away from the tough stuff - but reminds us that coming together for a laugh, is always good medicine.

This event is being put on by the local Kenilworth Working Group for the Suicide Prevention in Communities program. We want to provide an opportunity for Kenilworth locals to hang out and have a laugh together, because we know that loneliness and isolation can happen to any of us. This is our way of creating an opportunity to take seriously the need to connect!
Suicide can occur through disconnection, so we are passionate about providing spaces where people can have tough conversations and develop these strong connections. Last year we held a Barbed Wire BBQ event to show our community we are brave enough to talk about suicide. We want to reduce the stigma that suicide still has, by showing that it's possible to have a yarn and a laugh even in the most difficult of times.
