Event description

Comedy Of Errors
Helena Massey Trio
Friday 31st March
6pm

A bit of Wollongong classic and bit of brand new, Comedy of Errors and the Helena Massey Trio are teaming up for a night of fringe folk, rock, soul and infectious grooves.
After the momentous coming together last year for Comedy of Errors and the ongoing yells for more Steve Robbo is bringing his old band to his favourite venue.
Playing their classic 80's Wollongong hits and new songs from Steve's latest album the Machine the Fool and Us, Comedy of Errors ultimately is just gonna be about having a bit of fun.

With a new sound that has been compared to the avant-garde guitar scene of New York’s underground and the outsider blues of ‘90s rock, the Helena Massey Trio shapeshift through time signatures and dynamics, weaving fingerpicked refrains with thundering choruses.Sounds like a pretty eclectic and entertaining night to me.

Wollongong legends Comedy of Errors have reformed and are as sharp as ever on stage.
The band first took shape in the late ‘80s under local songwriter Steve Robinson, who was at that time, the unofficial mayor of the music scene in Wollongong for his role in developing the live scene around The Oxford Tavern, an infamous venue that grew to become a major hotspot for music on the South Coast. Having never stopped writing and refining his craft, Robinson’s new set of songs are timeless reflections on life, love, and the pursuit of happiness that shimmer with a playful lightness that is as infectious as ever.

Helena Massey is a Sydney-based alternative songwriter. Having produced a consistent stream of acclaimed releases over the years, her forthcoming album Well Below the Shaking is set to be another forward thinking milestone.
Her vision has led her to the fringes of folk music and back again, with a new sound that has been compared to the avant-garde guitar scene of New York’s underground and the outsider blues of ‘90s rock.
Performing live as a trio, her songs shapeshift through time signatures and dynamics, weaving fingerpicked refrains with thundering choruses.
