Comfort My People Worship and Prayer for Israel

Christian Friends of Israeli Communities provides a much needed vehicle for Christians to become better informed about the Jewish communities in the heartland of Biblical Israel, Judea and Samaria. CFOIC Heartland seeks to build Christian Jewish connections based on friendship and mutual respect for each other’s faith through recognising the biblical promise for the Jewish people to return to the land of Israel.

Christian Friends of Israeli Communities Heartland is hosting a Christian led gathering in Brisbane on Oct 5, 2024. Many pro-Israel Christian organisations are standing with the Jewish community. We will commemorate the Israelis lost and abducted on that dreadful day 12 months ago. We will stand with their families and communities offering heartfelt condolences that mere words cannot express. Through our collective worship and prayer, while the nation is in mourning, we will echo words of honour and love, peace and restoration, friendship and unity. We serve the God of the Living. Am Yisrael Chai.

The theme of our gathering will be simple: We give honour to Israel, the land and her people. They have been diligent keepers of the Torah, praying without ceasing for their return to Jerusalem and the biblical heartland, seeking only to live in peace and flourish in the land. Christianity was founded in Israel and since 1948 they are revitalising and preparing the land for the coming Messiah. For these reasons we oppose antisemitism and stand with Israel.

We will esteem Hashem. We will proclaim He is sovereign when we don’t understand. We will extend our heartfelt condolences to our Jewish brothers and sisters. We will pray for the release of the hostages as we remember they have been captive for 12 months. We will pray for the end of the war.

We will proclaim and pray for the nations to hear the writer of Hebrews say: 10:30-31 For we know the One Who said, “Vengeance is Mine; I will repay,” and again, “Adonai will judge His people.” It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the Living God.

We will repent on behalf of all antisemitism in our churches, throughout the ages, and across our country. We will plead to Adonai to have mercy on the nations in these times of great tribulation. We will acknowledge Yom Kippur and ask Adonai to give Israel a prosperous and rejuvenated year, a blessed and unified government acknowledging holiness, and to excel in the great responsibility Hashem has given them to be the Light to the Nations.
