    Event description

    Common Ground

Starting Famous Farmer, Gabe Brown is one of the pioneers of the current soil health movement which focuses on the regeneration of our resources.

Gabe, along with his wife Shelly, and son Paul, own and operate Brown's Ranch, a diversified 5,000 acre farm and ranch near Bismarck, North Dakota. The ranch consists of several thousand acres of native perennial rangeland along with perennial pastureland and cropland. Their ranch focuses on farming and ranching with nature.

The Browns holistically integrate their grazing and no-till cropping systems, which include a wide variety of cash crops, multi-species cover crops along with all natural grass finished beef and lamb. They also raise pastured laying hens, broilers and swine. This diversity and integration has regenerated the natural resources on the ranch without the use of synthetic fertilisers, pesticides, and fungicides.

Common Ground, the much-anticipated sequel to Kiss the Ground, which touched over a billion people and inspired the USDA to invest $20 billion in soil health, delves deep into the tangled web of money, power, and politics that has fractured our food system. The film exposes the harmful practices driving today’s farming crisis, where farmers of all races are literally dying to feed us. But it also offers hope, spotlighting a diverse movement of White, Black, and Indigenous farmers adopting regenerative agriculture to heal the land, improve health, and restore economic stability—before it’s too late.

As history shows, when the U.S. leads, others follow. It is time to join forces, help clean up our past mistakes—one backyard, paddock, and local farm at a time. Join us for a night of community inspiration as we grow, change & work together. For decades, we’ve handed control of our food to others. Now, it’s our time, to take back control.

Come early for a divine dinner at Pasture & CO, opened from 5pm. Carpool with your besties and be inspired once again...
