An exhibition bringing together artists from two collectives to showcase their creative ventures in a common place.
Thirty- five contemporary artists from Collective Haunt Inc and Parallel Studios come together at The Gallery at St Peters in a group exhibition unlike any other, to showcase a diverse collection of painting, printing, sculpture, textiles and mixed media artworks.
common | place derives from the mutual connection that the two collectives possess: to each other, as individuals within each group, and as a representation of their relationship to art. Common as shared, place as location, commonplace as customary.
Collective Haunt Inc is an Artist Run Initiative located on The Parade, Norwood. Established in 2018, the Haunt features fifteen artists’ studios and an exhibition space and focuses on supporting a diverse range of artistic talent through its studios and exhibition program.
Parallel Studios is a new art space on Payneham Road, St Peters and is a fusion of Laneway Print Studio, Formspace Artist Collective, artist studios and The Pod gallery. Members include printmakers, painters and inter-disciplinary practitioners.
Both collectives encourage their artists to develop their practices and to experiment, play and take creative risks within a supportive, nurturing environment.
