Description

Join Dr. Rochelle Steven, lecturer at Murdoch University, for a peaceful morning walk and discover the local birdlife in a whole new way. As you stroll, Dr. Steven will guide you in identifying and learning about the birds that surround you, offering valuable insights on how to support our feathered friends. She will also share details about the Aussie Bird Count and how you can contribute to protecting local wildlife. You may be surprised by the vibrant life thriving right in your own backyard!

Approximately 2 hours

Start time

This event will start at 2pm, and will include a short introduction at the front of EcoHub. If you are running late, the group may be difficult to find.

Location

Mostly outside in Piney Lakes Reserve. Please meet at the front of EcoHub.

Requirements

Weather appropriate clothing (including long pants), comfortable enclosed footwear, sunscreen, hat and water bottle.

Type of event and expectations

Outdoor workshop - Guests are expected to follow instructions of the program facilitator, be respectful at all times and assume responsibility for their own safety.

Accessibility

This walk will be on mostly hard paths with some uneven ground. May not be suitable for walking aids/wheelchairs.

Accessible parking is available at front of EcoHub, rooms are located on multiple levels via a ramp and toilets are available within the venue. For specific access requirements please feel free to call or email EcoHub at (08)9364 0191 or ecohub@melville.wa.gov.au

Directions to EcoHub
Please consider using public transportation. A bus stop, just a 2-minute walk away, is conveniently located near EcoHub and services multiple routes.

EcoHub is located at 555 Leach Highway, Winthrop in the Piney Lakes Reserve. To reach us, if heading westbound, take the first left after Murdoch Drive on Leach Highway. If coming from the Fremantle area, continue on Leach Hwy across Murdoch Drive and use the designated U-turn just after the lights to move to the westbound lanes. Go back through the lights at Murdoch Drive and take the first left. Please park in the signed public carpark.
