FOUR SATURDAYS, OCTOBER 4, 11, 18 & 25, 2025 | 8:30 am-5:30 pm | In-Person, Los Angeles County, CA
Learn skills to support pregnant women and persons, provide support during labor and birth and help new parents care for their newborns.
Help prevent maternal mortality and infant mortality. This training meets all the requirements of the State of California Medi-Caid eligibility for doulas working in California with Medi-Cal recipients.
Join us for an exciting in-person event, the Community Birth Doula Training & Certification Program. This program is designed to empower individuals who are passionate about supporting families during childbirth.

Must be 18 years of age and a high-school graduate. For best results in this class, some college experience is suggested.
During this comprehensive 32-hour training, you will learn essential skills and knowledge to become a Certified Birth Doula. Our experienced instructors will guide you through a broad scope of topics such as the history of reproductive rights and childbirth, anti-raqcism in maternity care, understanding perinatal health disparities and inequities, cross-cultural communication, labor support techniques, pain medication options and medical interventions, postpartum care of mothers and newborns, supporting breastfeeding, ethics and responsibilities of the doula profession and much, much more.
By attending this program, you will gain hands-on experience, build a supportive community, and develop the confidence to provide compassionate care to expectant families. Whether you are already working in the birth field or starting a new career, this program will equip you with the necessary tools to make a positive impact.

Materials
PowerPoint will be sent prior to the course start and Student Manual and Study Guide and handouts will be provided at the course. Students should bring a laptop or tablet to class for following along with the powerpoint in class.
Tuition
Regular: $1000.00 is the full tuition rate per person. WE DO NOT OFFER INVOICING FOR INDIVIDUALS.
Early Bird Rate: There is an early-bird rate of $850.00 per person.
Group Registration: There is a group discount (4 or more people registering together) of $850.00 per person. This is deal for agencies who would like this course as a staff in-service, or for 4 friends registering together. Payment Plans: $100.00 required at registration. Contact Training@motherbabysupport.net or call (626) 388-2191 ext. 3 to apply and make payment arrangements. If you fail to make payment in full by deadline you will forfeit your deposit. You may make payments per the signed agreement by entering the amount you wish to pay under "payment plans". IF YOU DO NOT MAKE ALL THE PAYMENTS DEADLINE, YOU WILL BE UNENROLLED FROM THE COURSE, AND YOUR PAYMENTS WILL NOT BE RETURNED.
Student Discounts: $750.00 per person. We offer student discounts for student midwives, student nurses, pre-med students, and public health students. Proof of student status should be emailed to: Training@motherbabysupport.net.
BIPOC Scholarships: Scholarships are available for low-income BIPOC persons who can commit to working with HMHBA as a volunteer while obtaining three births for certification over a period of one year. After certification, candidates will be qualified for employment with HMHBA. This is available through application and interview only. Are children allowed at this event?
Babies under age 6 months are allowed. Breastfeeding mothers welcome. No babies who are crawling or walking are permitted due to the distraction they may pose.
Are CEUs available?
