Event description

Please note that this event has been cancelled.

Come at about 7pm for the Sip'N'Nibble light refreshments to get to know your neighbours, and chat from about 7:30pm with Alison McCormack.

This is a FREE event!

Alison McCormack
, as the first female CEO in Bicycle Network's near-50-year history,  loves the idea of safe streets for children to play on and ride to school, and she's a fearless advocate for women feeling safe to ride too.

Bicycle Network’s Ride2School team works with schools and local authorities to facilitate special days where the streets surrounding a school are dedicated to active transport only. These Open Streets days are carefully planned, with signage, traffic control and pre-event communication between schools, councils and residents. Refer to: Bicycle Network website for more information.

Alison
thinks that local community connections help greatly when it comes to getting more women and children on bikes. Which is why she is really pleased to join in this local Community Chat to discuss how that might work in our area. She'd love to hear your concerns, ideas, and views about this.

Alison
rides her bike to work and pedals between meetings each day, so she knows first-hand how bike riding conditions can be improved. She has many ideas about how to make bike riding more accessible for everyone and she knows the many health and lifestyle benefits bike riding can bring.

We hope you can join us to have a chat with Alison and share you views on this important matter too.
